OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2010. Meeting of the Council of General and Chief Designers of Russia under the guidance of Sergey Ivanov, Deputy Chairman of the RF Government, Chairman of the above mentioned Council, and with the participation of Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, will be held at KAMAZ.

The representatives of federal ministries, general directors of industrial enterprises, directors of research institutes and scientific-and-production centers, the leading scientists and specialists working in high-technology sectors of economy of the country, and also the representatives of Russia’s automobile plants are invited to the meeting of the Council. The members of the delegation who arrived in Naberezhnye Chelny will meet Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, and his deputy responsible for development Irek Gumerov, chief designer of KAMAZ Danis Valeev, the leading designers of the company’s Research and Development Center.

The specialists of the Russian best enterprises, research institutes and scientific-and-production centers developing and implementing state-of-the-art technologies of machinery designing will share their experience at the meeting of the Council of General and Chief Designers of Russia.

KAMAZ's designers will also give a talk on their achievements at the meeting. For example, a new supercomputer the use of which will cardinally change the process of designing of new KAMAZ vehicles has recently been launched in R&D Center. This is a development of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center – the All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC-VNIIEF) with an installed software base intended to solve problems of heat-and-mass transfer, aero- and hydrodynamics, and also meant for complex modeling of gas dynamics processes and durability. The use of such supercomputers makes it possible to reduce costs on the design process by 30% and increase reliability and an operating life of products 1.5-2 times.

The participants of the meeting of the Council of General and Chief Designers will visit an experimental-industrial production department of R&D Center and see an exhibition of up-to-date vehicles of the company. They also plan to visit the mother assembly conveyor and a cab assembly conveyor at the automobile plant, and also some enterprises producing automobile components for KAMAZ jointly with the globally leading producers of OEM components.
