OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2010. At the airport Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) was put into operation “green corridor” the place of customs board by the passengers not having goods for obligatory customs declaration.

A system of double corridor started its function on the 20th October 2010 at the international terminal of Airport Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo): the passengers, owing goods liable to writing declaration, are directed to the “red” corridor and the passengers, conforming the absence of goods liable to writing declaration are directed to the “green” corridor. This system permits to accelerate the procedure of customs passing and is used both in the arrivals and departure areas.

At the press conference devoted to the putting into operation of double corridor system, the journalists interviewed the chief authorities: the chief of Novosibirsk customs Sergey Fyodorov, the chief of the Tolmachevo customs post Oleg Novoselov and the general director of OJSC “Airport Tolmachevo” Alexander Borodin.

Residents of our city were looking forward to this event - the opening of the “green corridor”. A large amount of work has been done in cooperation with the airport Tolmachevo and regional administration, - says Sergey Fedorov. - Until putting into operation of the "green" corridor it took 5 minutes to serve one passenger and about three hours to serve whole flight. Now, if a person chooses a green corridor, the time is reduced till several seconds. But it does not mean that the Tolmachevo border is open. This "Green" corridor is intended only for the good citizens.

The operational situation at the customs Tolmachevo remains tense. Citizens are transported across the border illicit tablets, cold steel etc. That’s why selective customs control will be fulfilled - noticed Oleg Novoselov. – Customs staff should explain the peculiarities of double corridor system to the passengers so as any person could make a right choice of the way.

The opening of a “green” corridor will not increase passenger traffic. Passenger traffic increased by the work of managers who develop the routs net, make the airport more attractive and friendly to passengers, - said Alexander Borodin. - The question about opening the “-green” corridor at the airport Tolmachevo had been under discussion since 1997, practically since the moment of putting into operation of the international terminal. Among the passengers are a lot of people from neighboring regions, and traveling companies, organize their routes to make passengers depart from Novosibirsk, not from other local airports. "Green" corridor will be one additional argument for attracting new companies and opening new routes.

By the regulation of the Federal Customs service the customs post of the airport Tolmachevo was added to the list of arrival and departure point to the customs area of the Customs Union where the system of double corridor is applied. In the Siberian Federal District, only three airports have the right to use the system of double corridor - Krasnoyarsk (Yemelyanovo), Irkutsk and Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo). Russia has 19 airports, with a system of double corridor in all.

Airport Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) is the largest international airport in the Urals. So the question about the reasonaibility of opening a "green" corridor at this crossing point has been discussed repeatedly by Novosibirsk customs.

Time for customs service will be significantly reduced by the opening green corridor.

Without payment of customs duties, taxes, individuals can carry in their luggage goods, the total value of which does not exceed an amount equivalent to Euro 1500 and the total weight does not exceed 50 kg. (Until 1 July 2010 - 65 thousand rubles and 35 kg).
