Ukraine and Egypt to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2010. To enhance bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Egypt operational working groups will be established. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov declared at the Sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Egyptian commission on economic and scientific-technical cooperation.
"We agreed with the Prime Minister of Egypt to establish operational working group to enhance bilateral cooperation" - Mykola Azarov emphasized. Thus, he added that in general the Ukrainian-Egyptian cooperation is developing dynamically.
In turn, the Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Ahmed Nazif said that in 2008 the bilateral trade turnover between the countries amounted to about 2 billion USD, in 2009 its level reduced due to global financial crisis, but according to results of the first half of 2010 trends to increase the level of trade between Ukraine and Egypt were recorded.
Ahmed Nazif suggested Ukraine to establish a joint venture in pharmaceutical industry. In addition the Head of the Egyptian Government said that direct air service between Kyiv and Cairo is resumed now. He said that Egypt offered Ukraine to establish a direct sea link between states.
In addition, Egypt is interested in intensifying cooperation with Ukraine in the military-technical sector, particularly in the delivery of "AN" aircraft to Egypt and armored vehicles upgrading.
"Your visit will be an additional stimulus for the development of our cooperation" - the Prime Minister of Egypt said referring to the Head of Ukrainian Government.
