EBRD Funds Construction of Private Hospital in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2010. The EBRD is providing a EUR7.75 million loan to Health Forever International, to support the construction and equipping of Medpark - the first private hospital in Moldova that meets international standards, reported the press-centre of EBRD.
Health Forever International is a Moldovan limited liability company founded by American and Turkish investors with experience in operating similar medical facilities in Turkey.
Located in the centre of Moldova’s capital Chisinau, the hospital will provide a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services, both on walk-in and referral bases. The project will lead to an increased availability of private healthcare services in Moldova that will raise the quality standards of services in the sector.
Medpark’s building is a six-storey facility with a capacity of 75 beds and a total area of close to 12,300 square metres. The EBRD will assist the hospital in employing advanced energy efficiency technologies that will enable the facility to benefit from energy savings and a low carbon footprint.
“The EBRD is pleased to support this important project that is endorsed by the Moldova’s healthcare authorities. It will increase the availability of quality and affordable healthcare services” said Libor Krkoska, Head of the EBRD Office in Moldova.

Overall since the beginning of its operations in Moldova, the EBRD has committed over €400 million in various sectors of the economy, mobilising additional investment in excess of €320 million.
