Mikhailovtsement Reviews Its 9 Month/2010 Performance Results
OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2010. Over the 9 month time-span the CJSC Mikhailobtsement operations team were setting up and running a sustainable production program devised by EUEOCEMENT Group’s management.
In Q3 repair work was done on rotating kiln No. 4 including installation of REFRATECHNIK refractory materials.
Currently major efforts are underway on the pre-crusher/crusher plant at the Crushing Department. The limestone conveyance systems are down for maintenance, which includes replacement of conveyance belts using a splicing technology and PATER materials. It will reduce spillage and extend the life of support and idler rollers.
Work is also in progress on an additional dumping machine for crushed limestone at the storage facility. It will add several unloading locations, provide more evenly distributed stacking and make less demand on clamshell cranes.
Maintenance work on wash mills No. 1 & 2 scheduled for October will consist of feeder replacement and repairs of the receiving hopper, including installation of friction-reducing polymer material, which facilitates passage of material (clay) through the bunker and improve hourly production rate of the wash-mills.
In October and November it is planned to complete repairs of drying drum No. 2 at the Crushing Department, including replacement of the housing and de-dusting units. Now preparatory activities are ongoing to install clamshell cranes, including work to assemble half-bridges and to mount associated equipment.
At this stage the plant is winterizing its operations. Priority focus is on buildings and facilities. Roofing repair work is being carried out at the engine rooms of the raw meal and cement grinding departments. Roofing repairs are continuing at the limestone facility.
Following the 9 months of operations CJSC Mikhailobtsement has produced 848,422 thousand tons of clinker, 915,927 thousand tons of cement and dispatched 919,237 thousand tons of finished products.
It is all too evident now that the plant is shaping up well to rebound to its pre-crises performance, i.e. 2007 output levels.
