OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2010. Transaero Airlines, the second largest air carrier in Russia, has made its U.S. debut now offering direct, non-stop flights three times per week between Moscow and New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 4.

Transaero began service from JFK Terminal 4 with flights three times per week to Moscow’s Domodedovo International Airport on a Boeing 747-400 aircraft equipped with approximately 352 seats divided into three travel classes: Business, Premium Economy and Tourist Economy. The flights operate each Sunday and Friday arriving JFK at 7:30pm and departing for Moscow at 9:30pm. On Wednesdays, the flight arrives from Moscow at 12:15pm and departs JFK at 2:00pm.

“This is a historic milestone for Transaero and we are glad that they chose Terminal 4 to mark their entry to the New York market," said Janice Holden, chief commercial officer of JFKIAT, LLC, which operates Terminal 4. "Transaero is a thriving, privately-owned airline that for nearly 20 years has enjoyed measurable success and a rapidly expanding route network. We look forward to a productive and enduring partnership."

Alexander Pleshakov, Chief Executive Officer Transaero Airlines added, "We are delighted to inaugurate our service to JFK International Airport as New York is a natural step in the progression of Transaero’s expansion plans. New York City is a premier global destination gateway and Terminal 4 is an ideal choice for our customers. We expect consumer demand to be sufficiently favorable so as to enable us to increase service from three times weekly."
