OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2010. The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Ndali Che Kamati, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Namibia to Russia.

Participating in the meeting were Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Boris Ivanov, Director General of Gazprom EP International B.V.

The meeting participants discussed potential areas of cooperation between Gazprom and the Republic of Namibia. In particular, the parties focused on the prospects for interaction between Gazprom and Namcor.
Background

Namibia's proven gas reserves are equal to 62.3 billion cubic meters. The bulk of gas reserves are concentrated within the Kudu field (46 billion cubic meters) located offshore Namibia near the border with the South African Republic. Namibia does not produce oil and gas domestically.

Namcor is the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia performing oil and gas exploration, production, processing and marketing. The company develops oil and gas fields both offshore and onshore Namibia.

Gazprom EP International B.V. is a fully-owned Gazprom subsidiary managing the Company's international assets related to hydrocarbons exploration and production.
