OREANDA-NEWS. November 23, 2010. Ukraine will do everything to ensure reliable and uninterrupted gas transit to EU countries. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said that opening the Ukrainian-Belgian business forum in Kyiv.

"We are committed to cooperation with EU in energy. Ukraine is the reliable energy transit country to Europe and we informed our European partners about it"- the PM said.

According to him, certain differences between Russia and Ukraine over natural gas pricing and contract terms do not affect the reliability of gas transit through Ukrainian territory to Europe: "On the contrary, we will do our best to ensure that these supplies would be completely reliable and stable. For that, we have provided significant amounts of gas in underground gas storage facilities, and have insured ourselves and our partners from any surprises. Therefore, Europe can be confident that, what happened in January 2009, will never happen again.
