Razgulay Finished Sowing of Winter Crops
OREANDA-NEWS. November 23, 2010. Agro-industrial holding Razgulay finished sowing of winter crops. Winter wheat has been sown at the area of 98 thousand in hectare: over 7 500 hectares in Belgorodskaya oblast, about 18 500 hectares in Kurskaya oblast, almost 11 000 hectares in Krasnodarsky Krai, 33 000 hectares in Rostovskaya oblast, over 10 500 in Bashkortostan Republic, about 14 000 hectares in Orlovskaya oblast, 3 000 hectares in Stavropolsky Krai and Samarskaya oblast, reported the press-centre of Razgulay.
The average planned prolificness of winter wheat is 3, 1 tonnes per hectare upon condition of weather preservation usual for these regions. In 2010 the actual yield became 2, 6 tonnes per hectare. The best yields of wheat in 2011 are traditionally awaited in Krasnodarsky Krai - about 4, 7 tonnes per hectare.
In 2009 winter wheat had been sown at the area about 131 000 hectares. Planned appraisal of territory and climate conditions and soils of Razgulay cultivated area made in 2009/2010 had shown that some regions, for example Samarskaya oblast, are characterized with unfavorable conditions for sowing of winter crops, while for sowing of spring crops, such as wheat, flax, sunflower, conditions are optimal. I 2009/2010 the area for sowing of spring crops versus winter crops rose up to 33 000 hectares. Besides that, there were changes in crop rotation: it was decided to enlarge the quantity of crops, which make the maximum profit margin of 1 hectare (soy, flax, and mustard). We hope the diversification of cultivated areas will help to reduce the risks of crop losses and to raise the efficiency of Group agribusiness.
Because of extension of crop export moratorium till July 1st, 2011 agro-industrial holding Razgulay is going to sell crop reserves of 2009/2010 at the local market. The main consumers are the flour mills, feed mills and poultries. Razgulay export volume of crops, meals, oilcakes and bagasses in 2009 reached 1 154 713 tonnes, and in 2010 (before August 15th) about 400 thousand tonnes.
