OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2010. SC “Olympstory” finished working on system of ecological management and confirmed that its way of management corresponds to the International Standard ISO 14001 requirements. The certificate is granted by the “Test-Saint-Petersburg” company accredited by the International Association IQnet.

By gaining the certificate ISO, State Corporation “Olympstroy” not only met its obligations formulated in the Bid Book, but also developed a responsibility system of ecological stability of the Olympic project “Sochi-2014”. Not only departments of Olympstroy but also its contractors involved into this system of specific obligations and control mechanisms of its realization.

There are 19 ecological corporate standards included into the system of ecological management. They regulate works at every level: from engineering survey and design to maintenance of the constructed Olympic Venues and infrastructure.

“Green” corporate standard became one of the most important issues. Most of the venues will be certified according to this standard. It is a big step forward to international systems of control because this standard converts considerable part of the Russian law recommended norms that are similar to “Green” International requirements into regulations.

“Green” design and construction way is more harmonious territory planning and usage of architectural decisions. It harmonizes the state of the building with the world around. It minimizes natural resources and energy usage while maintenance of the building, and leads to modern materials and equipment usage. At the first stage “Green” standards applying was quite expensive, but these expenses will be compensated while maintenance of facilities.

Even now, not only measures on eliminating of pollution, but also measures on energy and natural recourses preservation while construction are in operation, and it is one of the most important principles of the “Green” construction. Here are the most spectacular examples: usage of water circulation schemes and technical water, secondary usage of loosened construction waste, usage of certified and eco-friendly materials in construction, separate collection and burning of waste.

By fulfilling responsibilities of the Bid Book SC “Olympstroy” shares its practical experience of the “Green” construction. Best representatives of the construction complex of the Russian federation and international experts and organizations are involved in the Olympic construction activities; scientific and technical expert council of the energy efficiency and “Green” designing are planned to be created.
