OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2010. A group of environmental specialists of Bashneft-dobycha Company visited TATNEFT. The purpose of the visit was to study the experience of Tatarstan oil companies in the field of environmental protection and arrangement of contests on improvement and rehabilitation of springs, reported the press-centre of Tatneft.

The meeting of Bashneft-dobycha (production division of Bashneft Joint Stock Company) representatives and specialists of TATNEFT was held in the territory of NGDU Bavlyneft. The guests were shown a number of nature protection facilities of this Oil and Gas Production Board and landscaped springs. The environmentalists also visited well number 1 of Bavlinskoye deposit: a discovery well of large Devonian oil.

An open dialogue on the subject of environmental protection activities was held between the environmental experts. The guests were offered detailed presentations of the environmental technologies applied in the Company to reduce the negative impact of crude oil production on the environment, and they were familiarized with the history and specifics of arranging a review contest "For maintaining the aesthetic ecological state of developed water springs and water quality improvement" arranged by TATNEFT since 1995. The Company's specialists also answered numerous questions on various aspects of environmental security in the south-eastern part of the Republic of Tatarstan in the area of TATNEFT Group of Companies' presence.

The specialists of Bashneft-dobycha Company highly praised the environmental orientation of TATNEFT and noted that the rich experience and innovative potential in the environmental area deserve attention and study. Such meetings are appropriate and beneficial not only for the enterprises involved in related activities areas but also for the neighboring republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan. Interaction and cooperation in this field creates favorable environmental conditions in the areas of intensive oil production.
