OREANDA-NEWS. The X International specialized exhibition of goods, equipment and raw materials for the light industry Black Sea Letex will take place at the Moldexpo on November 18-21. Black Sea Letex – is the only business forum in the country which is a basis for studying the range of goods, technologies, monitoring of prices and competitive environment for firms working in the area of production and supplies of goods and resources.

Octavian Calmic, Deputy Minister of Economy, said at the press conference dedicated to the exhibition that 278 enterprises were working in the light industry at the moment, exporting 80% of their production. The fact that the volume of production of this sector increased by 7.2% in January-March 2010, and by 12.9% - in January-June 2010, proves a stable tendency towards amelioration of the situation in the sector after the financial-economic crisis, said Octavian Calmic.

100 exponents, including producers and distributors from Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and Turkey, as well as the leading and young fashion designers from Moldova and Ukraine will participate in the exhibition. The exhibition is organized according to the show principle. The program of specialized workshops, ARTPODIUM-2010 Fashion Days will take place within the framework of the exhibition. According to the Industry Development Strategy till 2015, the light industry became the priority branch of the national economy.

The share of light industry in the total production volume in 2009 made up 14.1%, for nine months of 2010 – 16.9%. The branch provides about one fourth of the total exports from the country.
