OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2010. At present the specialists are testing main circulation pump units of the Indian NPP first power unit. Within the framework of the precommisioning the first cooling circuit was filled and pressurized. All systems of the power unit are operating steadily. 
The hydraulic testing of the first and the second cooling circuits of the NPP is a key operational arrangement at the final stage of the nuclear power plant construction. The main purpose of the testing is to check the plant equipment.

Within the framework of the hydraulic testing the pressure will be gradually increased up to the maximum level exceeding the operating pressure of the NPP in order to prove its operational safety and high degree of reliability. The safety issues are always of crucial importance at NPPs construction.
