RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2010. Over the week of November 8-13, 2010, the RTS Index went up by 0.22% to reach 1,606.08 points (1,602.53 points as of November 3, 2010). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of "OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL" (GMKNS) (plus 5.85 points) followed by ordinary shares of NLMK  (NLMKS) (plus 3.16 points) and Gazprom  (GAZPS) (plus 2.62 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, lost 0.40% to reach 10,521.56 points (10,564.25 points as of November 3, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase of 0.02% closing at 1,986.08 points (1,985.67 points as of November 3, 2010). Last week most of the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a sideways trend. The largest growth was reported by the metallurgy sector, with the RTS Metals & Mining Index adding 4.59%. The greatest decline was reported only by the financial sector, with the RTS Finances Index shedding 0.59%.

The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, added 0.94%.

Last week the US dollar depreciated by 0.06% against the ruble to reach 30.77 rubles per US dollar (30.79 rubles as of November 3, 2010).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of November 8-13, 2010 equaled USD12.95 billion (398.1 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2,627.97 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD1,644.1 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD384.5 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD152.7 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 61.36%, 14.35% and 5.70% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of Krasnoyarsk HES  (KRSG) that went up by 20.20% to USD5.95 followed by ordinary shares of OJSC Uralkali  (URKA) – by 17.00% to USD5.85 and OJSC "Kazanorgsintez"  (KZOS) – by 11.68% to reach USD0.19823.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBER) that fell 5.37% to reach USD3.17 followed by JSC "LENENERGO"  (LSNG) that lost 5.20% to reach USD0.82 and ordinary shares of BuryatZoloto  (BRZL) that lost 4.67% to reach USD28.6.
