OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2010. OJSC Transsiberian reinsurance corporation Central Office (Krasnoyarsk) concluded unusual freight reinsurance treaty: trucking of young giraffe from Krasnodar Territory to Krasnoyarsk. Risk was accepted under facultative animal reinsurance treaty.

Under the treaty of direct insurance, concluded with one of the largest insurance companies of Krasnoyarsk Territory, there were covered risks of animal death, loss, damage or compulsory slaughter. Reinsurance treaty applied during the trucking of the giraffe from Krasnodar to "Krasnoyarsk Park of flora and fauna "Roev ruchei".

It was primarily planed the trucking of two young giraffes. However, on the eve of departure one of them was taken ill. In order to guarantee due care and observe sanitary standards, the second one went along with one of Krasnoyarsk Zoo directors – veterinarian. The trucking went off well.
