“It is absolutely logical and understandable that the Russian party is interested in the tender development. I believe we treat it with respect, and we are talking about the reasoned choice we shall make in future,” Klaus said after his meeting with Czech journalists. “The fact that they (the Russians) promise that 60% of subcontractual supplies will be performed by our Czech suppliers will certainly be among the factors that will influence our final decision,” the President noted.
At the same time Vaclav Klaus noted that the external policy factor would also be important. “Nevertheless we see certain improvements in the international atmosphere,” Klaus said and stressed that next week Russia would participate in the NATO summit in Lisbon, and the alliance was interested in development of partnership relations with Russia. “In my opinion these things will influence the decision,” Klaus declared.
