OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2010. As it was informed in the Ministry of Economy, the EC representatives informed Moldova about it in the course of the meeting of Moldova-EU subcommittee on trade and investments, held in Brussels.

They noted, particularly, the EC decided to enlarge the autonomous trade preferences provided to Moldova till 2015 and increase the amount of quotas on key positions of exported to the EU products – wine and crops.

 Thus, particularly, the quota for free delivery of the Moldavian wine to the EU for 2012 increased up to 1,8 million dal and for 2013-2015 – up to 2,4 million dal. Besides, it’s suggested to increase the quotas for free export of crops, barley, corn by 5 thousand tons every year, in order to reach the volume of 50 thousand tons by 2015.

As it was noted, the relevant EC decision should be approved by the EU Council and the European Parliament. Moldavian authorities asked the EU to increase the volume of quota for wine delivery for a long time, noting the country drew the quotas ahead of time. Moldova received the quotas for preferential export of wine and other products to the EU countries from March 1, 2008.

Individual trade preferences have been provided to Moldova in order to liberalize trade with the EU and provide prerequisites for creation of economically favorable environment and attraction of investments. Moldova received the quotas for free export for a number of products, including for wine, white sugar, wheat, etc.
