President Yanukovych Opens New Production Line at Karpatnaftokhim
OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2010. In Kalush district, Ivano-Frankivsk region, President Viktor Yanukovych took part in the ceremony of launching the new production line of chlorine and caustic soda by Karpatnaftokhim Ltd.
In his address, the President stressed the importance of this project in terms of using raw materials to be produced by the plant at other plants in Ukraine.
President Yanukovych praised investors’ contribution in modernization of Karpatnaftokhim. First of all, he thanked OJSC LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov. "Many thanks to Vagit Alekperov and his company, who kept their word and invested over USD 550 million in reconstruction of the enterprise," he said.
He expressed confidence that modernization of Karpatnaftokhim will continue. "I think this plant will see further development, launching of the second and third set of investment projects and approaching about USD 1 billion of investment," Viktor Yanukovych said. He also said it is possible that one day the enterprise will become the most advanced in Eastern Europe, and Europe as a whole.
The President wished the factory workers that they believed in the future and always had reliable jobs with high pay.
To the Ivano-Frankivsk region residents President Yanukovych wished that business atmosphere was always prevailing in the region, and "that politicians consolidated around real ideas of building a strong country and improving people's lives."
During his visit to Karpatnaftokhim, President Yanukovych was familiarized with the completion of PVC production line.
