OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2010. United Metallurgical Company held an international conference titled "Development of OMK's Regional Metal Trade with Metal Trading Companies." The conference was attended by more than 100 executives and experts of metal trading companies who are engaged in the sales of OMK-made metal products.

"This was an anniversary conference. The first one was held ten years ago," said Chief Sales Officer of the OMK Wheel-Rolling Division Aleksandr Serpukhov. "The main distinctive feature of the conference was an unprecedented activity of its business seminar participants: besides positive comments about us, there were some critical ones, which means that our forum does not leave its participants indifferent. Another distinctive feature of the conference was its warm and friendly atmosphere. Last year, in addition to our traditional participants from Belarus, Ukraine, and the Baltic states, we had first-time invitees—metal traders from Finland, Poland, Germany, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. This year, we met like good friends and colleagues. This proves that our strategy to extend the geography of conference participants is correct. We do not rule out the possibility that metal traders from the United States will be invited to take part in our seminar. We should extend our dialog by inviting representatives of new markets."

In their speeches, representatives of OMK and its entities and their business partners analyzed in detail the situation in the metal trade market, including pricing, procurement, and sales issues. Special emphasis was placed on reequipment of Russian metallurgical companies, modernization of production facilities, and creation of innovative products that are in demand in the market.
