OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2010. The "International Bank of Azerbaijan – Georgia" began to issue VISA International bank cards. The Bank’s clients receive the opportunity to become Visa Electron, Visa Classic and Visa Gold cardholders. In future the Bank intends to extend the proposal due to premium types of cards such as Visa Platinum and Visa Infinite, reported the press-centre of IBA.

As noted the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank, Samir Veliyev, it is expected that emission of bank cards will allow the Bank to significantly increase the amount of work with individuals, expand scope of activity and cooperation with both existing and potential customers. The Board of the Bank also intends to invite the business customers to participate in the project “Salary Card” (under which the company employees will receive salary and other payments by the credit card).

S. Veliyev noted that serious plans are raised before the Bank to increase the respective infrastructure, namely a significant expansion of ATM network (at this stage 4 ATMs located in the central districts of the capital of Georgia are functioning), the installation of POS-terminals in various objects of trade service and also the expansion of the functional of the cards.

We would remind that "International Bank of Azerbaijan – Georgia" (IBA-Georgia) – Resident Bank of Georgia with 100% foreign capital, established on November 16, 2006. The authorized and paid charter capital of the Bank amounted to 12 million Lari (approx. USD7 million). 75% of the shares of the Bank belong to the International Bank of Azerbaijan. The Bank provides a wide range of services for corporate and private clients as the universal bank.
