OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2010. Brand new SPA facility, modern self-service restaurant and nightclub as well as 1,700 places in the cabins - all this will be waiting for passengers of a new vessel cruising the Gdynia - Karlskrona ferry route. Stena Vision - new, bigger and much more luxurious Stena Line ferry shall stat its first voyage from Gdynia on Thursday, November 4 at 09:00pm. It is to replace the Finnarrow vessel, which is about to end its service on the route Gdynia - Karlskrona on 7 November 2010, departing for the last time from the port of Gdynia at 08:00pm.

The other of the two new vessels - Stena Spirit - shall, in 2011, replace Stena Baltica which is currently still in service. The cost of rebuilding of the two ferries amounts to two hundred and fifty million Swedish crowns (ca PLN 120 million). The changes shall result in much higher standard of travel, doubled capacity for passengers and about 35% higher cargo capacity on the line. As a result, we shall expect further development of tourism between Poland and Sweden and growth of freight trading on the Gdynia - Karlskrona Sea Motorway.

Stena Line is one of the largest ferry operators in the world that has been successful for over 45 years in this industry. In May 2010 it has been 15 years since the Stena Line departed for its maiden voyage from Karlskrona to Gdynia with the M / S Lion Queen ferry.
