IMF and Ukraine Has no Controversies on Draft Tax Code
OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2010. The Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that there are no controversies with the IMF on the draft Tax Code. The Head of Government said that at a briefing.
According to him, between Ukraine and the IMF there are purely debatable issues that require discussion, but we are not talking about controversies.
"We almost agreed, because the comments that the IMF had, in principle, were dictated by expediency of a cautious approach in the formation of public revenues. We have carefully considered them at meeting with the IMF officials and reached compromise. So there are no controversies with the IMF concerning the Tax Code"- the PM said.
Furthermore, as Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed, there were no specific disagreements with the IMF concerning the taxation of entrepreneurs. "we had no particular disagreement with the IMF on that matter" - Mykola Azarov said.
He said the negotiations are underway with various associations representing the interests of persons-entrepreneurs, concerning the draft Tax Code: "Proposals of our negotiators are: let's raise the turnover threshold, which defines business as the small one, to 500 thousand UAH, and we would give you free a cash register. And they tell us: No, do not give us a free cash register, simply raise the threshold"- the Prime Minister of Ukraine said, and added that in this case it would be difficult to verify the reality of the annual turnover of these businesses.
