OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2010. II International Scientific-Practical Conference “World Gas Resources and Reserves and Advanced Development Technologies” (WGRR-2010) in Gazprom VNIIGAZ was organized by Gazprom and Gazprom VNIIGAZ.

The Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee A. Ananenkov sent a welcoming letter to participants of the Conference. It states “Replenishment and expansion of the resource base is one of the main factors of long-term energy safety worldwide”.

The Conference was opened by the General Director of Gazprom VNIIGAZ P.G. Tsybulsky, who said that for several years Gazprom VNIIGAZ had been actively involved in geological and economic monitoring of the feedstock base of gas industry of Russia; estimation of contemporary condition and development trend of the feedstock base of gas industry of world countries and regions for the purpose of development of the strategy of Gazprom’s international activity to 2030.

WGRR-2010 brought together representatives of Gazprom: the Councillor of the Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee, A.M. Mastepanov, Head of Directorate of Geological Exploration, Licensing and Usage of Mineral Wealth of Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department, S.M. Karnaukhov, Head of Directorate of Equipment and Technology of Offshore Fields Development of Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department, Vladimir Vovk.

During WGRR-2010 representatives of Russian and foreign companies, specialists and experts will exchange opinions and discuss relevant issues of the contemporary state and prospects of development of the mineral resource base of gas industry in Russia and worldwide and efficient use of natural gas.

The Conference is divided into four sessions: Natural gas resources and reserves; Forecast, prospecting and survey of gas containing fields and deposits; Exploration and development of gas containing fields; Unconventional gas: resources, technologies, prospects of exploration.

The Conference brought together over 160 delegates that represent scientific-technical, design-engineering and production companies of Russia and other countries of the world. Conference partners are Wintershall and E.ON Ruhrgas.
