Transsiberian Re Releases Preliminary Results of Activity in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2010. According to the data of the forms of state departmental statistical monitoring for the 3rd quarter 2010 OJSC Transsiberian Reinsurance Corporation collected RUR 537 mln of gross premium income. In addition, the volume of net reinsurance for 9 months of this year reached RUR 420 mln, this is up by 4% than for the last year.
The total amount of paid losses for 9 months of this year amounted for RUR 347 mln. For the same period of last year payments were in the amount of RUR 235 mln, in other words there is an increase of this figure by 47%.
Transsiberian Re portfolio structure should be recognized as well-balanced. The bulk of revenues – 84.8% (RUR 455.7 mln) is still accounting for property reinsurance treaties. The share of reinsurance of liability amounts for 11.2% (RUR 60.2 mln), fees for reinsurance treaties of personal accident – 3.3% (17.9 mln) total fees, 0.7% (RUR 3.8 mln) – revenues from business and financial risks.
In the last six years, premiums received by Transsiberian Re from abroad, constantly exceed fees at the Russian market. This tendency remained by the end of three quarters of 2010: GPW received from non-residents (insurance companies and brokers) amounted for 66.4% of the Corporation’s portfolio.
According to preliminary data for 9 months of this year Transsiberian Re concluded 3157 reinsurance treaties, this is slightly more than for the same period of last year.
92.5% of total amount of Transsiberian Re payments under reinsurance treaties is accounted for property reinsurance (RUR 321 mln). Property reinsurance paid losses account for approximately RUR 13.5 mln, or 3.9%. In addition, 3.6% (RUR 12.4 mln) is accounted for reinsurance recoveries under personal accident.
Over the three quarters of this year Transsiberian Re made payments under 1007 losses, this is the same for the same period of last year. The payment ratio, id est the ratio of current payments and receipts for three quarters of 2010, is 64.6% (for the previous year it was 29.2%, and in 2008 – 42.8%).
