OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2010. The port's cargo turnover exceeded 6 mln. tonnes.

According to operations department of Commercial Port of Vladivostok, in Jan-Oct 2010 cargo turnover amounted to 6,004,500 tonnes: export - 3.458 mln. tonnes, import - 1.236 mln.  tonnes, cabotage cargo - 1.310 mln. tonnes. Container handling volumes constituted 277,918 TEU: export - 102,832 TEU, import - 87,921 TEU, cabotage - 87,165 TEU.

In October 2010 the port handled 656,400 tonnes: export - 365,900 tonnes, import - 141,800 tonnes, cabotage - 148,700 tonnes.  The number of containers handled totaled 33,149 TEU (cabotage - 9,696 TEU, import - 10,822TEU, export - 12,631 TEU).

According to Chief Operations Officer Sergey Lopunov, summarizing the results of the ten months of this year the port saw a 15.2% increase in cargo turnover compared with the corresponding period of last year. Despite 4.4% reduction in exports, the port saw a significant increase in import and cabotage cargo volumes - 56% and 62% respectively. Owing to this the port managed to hit the annual operational plan of 6.11 mln. tonnes in November.
