OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2010. Transaero Airlines today announces the launch of its winter 2010/2011 schedule. The new schedule reflects a significant flight network expansion in line with the company’s growth strategy.

For the first time in its history the number of routes in winter schedule reached one hundred with 18 new routes to be launched initially. Almost two-thirds of new routes will be operated from the Russian regions with six routes from Moscow, six from St. Petersburg and one from each Vladivostok, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Samara, Ufa and Khabarovsk.

As of October 14, 2010, the Company’s fleet consists of 57 aircraft and continues to expand, mainly by long-haul wide body Boeing 777 and Boeing 747-400 aircraft, and also by narrow body Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.

The main highlight of the winter schedule is the launch of services from Moscow to New York and Miami. Flights to Miami will begin on 27th October 2010 operated by Boeing-777 twice a week. Flights to New York will commence on 29th October 2010, three times a week operated by Boeing-747-400.

In addition, from 2011 Transaero Airlines will operate regular direct non-stop flights on route Moscow-Rio de Janeiro for the first time in its history. This service is expected to be opened from the beginning of January operating once a week from Domodedovo International Airport. The anticipated flight time is only 12 hours and 30 minutes due to the high cruising speed of Boeing 747-400 aircraft which will be servicing this route.

Domestic and international flight network expansion from St. Petersburg continues. The winter schedule will include the new services from the Northern capital of Russia to Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Samara, Ufa, Varadero and Salzburg.

Another addition to the schedule will be an extensive Transaero’s regional program of flights to Bangkok (Thailand) from Vladivostok, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Samara, Ufa and Khabarovsk. Besides, the existing flights to Thailand will continue to operate from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk.

Increasing volumes of traffic during the winter period will be operated from Sheremetyevo International Airport to the regions of high demand such as Bangkok, Phuket, Goa, Punta Cana, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.

The frequency of flights on routes Moscow - Yekaterinburg and Moscow – Novosibirsk will also be increased.

On the route Moscow - Tel Aviv in the winter season, Transaero will fly 22 times a week, 21 of which will operate from Domodedovo airport and one flight from Sheremetyevo airport and. Such frequency of flights is unique on this route.

Transaero in the winter season offers advanced options for connections through Moscow to Canada, USA and South-East Asia for travelers from Israel and Ukraine. The number of transfer passengers on all Transaero flights over the first 8 months of 2010 compared to the same period last year has grown by 33%.

On the Moscow - Berlin route an additional evening flights will be introduced, which will provide passengers for flights departing to Russia late in the evening, which particularly important for the large number of business passengers using this route.

This winter Transaero resumes flights on Moscow - Mauritius route.

The popularity of the Imperial, the unique class of service onboard, is growing. Imperial service is offered to passengers who appreciate luxury and exclusivity of the services provided on Boeing 777s and Boeing-747-400s. In the winter season this class of service will be introduced on flights from Moscow to Vladivostok, New York, Miami, Beijing, Male, Phuket, Punta Cana, Cancun, and Rio de Janeiro. For the first 8 months of 2010 the number of passengers used the services of Transaero’s Imperial class has grown by 73% compared to the same period last year.
