RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. November 9, 2010. Over the week of November 1-3, 2010, the RTS Index went up by 0.97% to reach 1,602.53 points (1,587.14 points as of October 29, 2010). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBERS) (plus 5.08 points) followed by ordinary shares of LUKOIL (LKOHS) (plus 3.26 points) and OJSC Uralkali  (URKAS) (plus 2.38 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, gained 0.96% to reach 10,564.25 points (10,463.83 points as of October 29, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced a decrease of 0.49% closing at 1,985.67 points (1,995.51 points as of October 29, 2010). Last week most of the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a positive trend. The largest growth was reported by the industrial sector, with the RTS Inductrial Index adding 1.56%. The greatest decline was reported only by the power sector, with the RTS Electric Utilities Index shedding 0.92%.

The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, lost 0.23%.

Last week the US dollar appreciated by 0.36% against the ruble to reach 30.79 rubles per US dollar (30.68 rubles as of October 29, 2010).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of November 1-3, 2010 equaled USD 6.2 billion (189.3 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD 1,277.01 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD828.3 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD183.4 million and ordinary shares of LUKOIL (LKOH) with a turnover of USD71.1 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 63.58%, 14.07% and 5.46% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of Kazansky Helicopter Plant  (KHEL) that went up by 8.45% to USD 2.25 followed by ordinary shares of JSC Acron  (AKRN) – by 3.79% to USD 30.1 and JSC Aeroflot  (AFLT) – by 3.78% to reach USD 2.47.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of Raspadskaya  (RASP) that fell 3.10% to reach USD5.62 followed by preferred shares of  Transneft  (TRNFP) that lost 2.89% to reach USD 1 175.00 and ordinary shares of Gazprom  (GAZP) that lost 1.68% to reach USD5.46.
