OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2010. The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Guenther Oettinger, European Commissioner for Energy.

The parties addressed the prospects for the Russian-European interaction in the gas sector and agreed on the need to prepare and deliver in the first quarter of 2011 a presentation dedicated to potential opportunities of cooperation deepening between Gazprom and the European Union.

Alexey Miller and Guenther Oettinger agreed to form a joint working group with a view to regularly discussing the implementation of the Third Energy Package and the influence of this legislative initiative on the fulfillment of Gazprom’s long-term contracts.

During the discussion Guenther Oettinger on behalf of the European Commission expressed satisfaction with the progress and results of the Russian-Polish negotiations regarding cooperation in the gas sector.
