Turkmenistan-Austria: Bridge of Friendship and Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. November 03, 2010.The exhibition of Turkmen textiles, carpets and jewellery has opened in the capital of the Republic of Austria, Vienna today.
The exhibition organized according to the Resolution of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in collaboration with relevant ministries, departments and organisations will take place in the Vienna Museum Quarter and contribute to fostering a dialogue between our countries that has been brought to a qualitatively new level and filled with a new content in recent years.
The dynamic and long-term basis for this cooperation built on mutual confidence and benefit was laid by the agreements reached in Vienna in 2008 during the Turkmen-Austrian top level talks. These include the Agreement of Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
During that memorable meeting the leaders of our states expressed the mutual willingness to intensify further partnership in the bilateral format as well as in the framework of Turkmenistan-EU cooperation.
Vienna is one of the centres of world politics and diplomacy, the hotspot of the business life of Austria that stipulates a critical role of the Austrian capital in tackling topical issues of world politics, bringing different cultures and nations together. Today, an interest in original culture of the Turkmen people as the successors of rich national traditions grows in Europe as well as all over the world. The Turkmenistan-Austria bridge of friendship and cooperation provides a splendid opportunity for people in Europe to learn better about present day Turkmenistan, our people, their spiritual values which have been comprehended anew and developed in the contemporary epoch.
This mission of the forum is highlighted in the welcoming statement of the leader of Turkmen state to participants of the exhibition of Turkmen textiles, carpets and jewellery in the Republic of Austria. During a recent government meeting President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that this exhibition was to showcase Turkmenistan’s economic achievements in the epoch of new Revival and fundamental reforms. The Turkmen leader underscored the practical importance of the forum in terms of establishment of business contacts, exchange of experiences and adoption of advanced technologies and innovations offered by foreign partners.
Participants of the exhibition in Vienna represent the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Textile Industry, the Turkmenhaly State Joint Stock Corporation, the Ministry of Culture and Broadcasting, the Turkmen State Publishing Service, the State Committee for Sport and Tourism, the Committee for the Avaza National Tourism Zone, the State Fund of Precious Metals and Stones, the Union of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs. The Turkmen delegation consists of workers of couture and art.
The business agenda of the exhibition, which includes presentations and discussions of the possibilities for delivering Turkmen goods, will be supplemented with musical performances of famous artists of our country.
A wide spectrum of the spheres represented by exhibition participants will enable to present the export potential of Turkmen textile industry, which has the vast opportunities to promote mutually advantageous cooperation as well as the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people. Its integral part and the priceless property of the nation are Turkmen carpets and the art of making handmade carpets of unsurpassed beauty handed down from generation to generation always arouse sincere admiration among connoisseurs of this beauty in Europe. Representatives of the Austrian business circles show continued interest in export of Turkmen carpets on their market.
Also, the guests will have an opportunity to see rare museum collections and artefacts, the works created by Turkmen jewellers – zergers and modern publications, including the books about Turkmenistan, its age-old culture and the present day of the country.
Austrian businessmen and investors will have an opportunity to appraise the promising vector of cooperation such as the tourism industry in Turkmenistan, which is reaching an international level through implementing the project of the Avaza national tourism zone on the picturesque Caspian seashore.
