Moldova Pays Compensations Due to Increase of Tariffs
OREANDA-NEWS. November 03, 2010. Payment of social compensations due to increase of tariffs for energy sources for November-December 2010 started in Moldova. As it was communicated at the briefing by Prime Minister Vladimir Filat, 137 million lei were allocated from state budget for payment of compensations due to increase of tariffs for heating, electricity and natural gas. 521,4 thousand pensioners with monthly revenue less than 900 lei, as well as more than 33 thousand socially-vulnerable families will benefit from compensation for two months at once totaling to 260 lei (130 lei per each month).
They will keep the right for compensations during 3 years. Premier emphasized that the facilitated formula for compensations payment has been elaborated for convenience of recipients. The compensations are available at any affiliate of Banca de Economii under the presence of identity card only. Vladimir Filat said that the government would continue to pay the social compensation in 2011.
The relevant amounts are stipulated by the draft law on state budget for 2011 and from April 1, 2011 new indexation of pensions will be made. Vladimir Filat noted that 260 thousand people received social compensation of 390 lei each in Moldova in winter months in early 2010. This time the number of compensation recipients increased up to 521 472 persons and 33 061 families.
