OREANDA-NEWS. November 03, 2010. Agro-industrial and petrochemical complexes of GC “Titan” were visited by ROSNANO delegation headed by Anatoly Chubais, Director General of “Rosnanotekh” State Corporation. Members of the delegation started their working day with visit of the exhibition “Omsk Projects in Nano Scale” located in regional expo-center ARVD, reported the press-centre of Titan.

On the exposition Omsk nanoprojects were presented to Anatoly Chubais, including two projects of GC “Titan”: ETBE plant and creation of full silicon processing cycle*. The State Corporation director was especially interested in polycrystalline silicon production project. As he said, ETBE production project was well known to him and he will pay special attention to it during visit to the industrial site where it is planned to realize ETBE production.

Answering to the questions of the head of ROSNANO about silicon project, Elena Erlingayte, major technologist of CJSC “NPO “Silarus”**, pointed to its main advantages. Among them – availability of own deposits of vein quartz (Kazakhstan), metallurgical silicon plant – feedstock for polysilicon production. By the way, she noted, that the scheme developed by Silarus specialists in conjunction with foreign engineering company will provide minimal prime cost of produced goods (average prime cost of kilogram of polysilicon in the world is about USD 35, and authors of the project claim prime cost to be less than USD 20).

Anatoly Chubais also visited sites of the “PARK” project, which is realized in Omsk by “Group of Companies “Titan”, CJSC. It was presented on feed mill by the project’s director – deputy of State Duma Mikhail Sutyaginsky. Head of ROSNANO evaluated the whole seriousness of the “PARK” idea, especially noting efficiency of deep processing of biomass the organization of which is planned within the framework of agroidustrial biocluster.

There are no analogous projects in Russia. The Governor, Chairman of Omsk region Government Leonid Polezhayev took part in the meeting, first deputy of the Chairman of the government of Omsk region Andrey Besshtan’ko, ministers of Omsk region Igor Murayev, Alexander Gorbunov; managing directors of State Corporation “Rosnanotech”; Director General of “Group of Companies “Titan” Oleg Mukhin, Deputy Director General on Capital Construction of “Group of Companies “Titan”, CJSC, Nikolai Vinokurov etc. On Friday, 8 October, during the meeting in the Government of Omsk Region, dedicated to the issues of development of nanotechnologies and nanoindustry with participation of State Corporation “Rosnanotech” Mikhail Sutyaginsky will give a speech.

*REFERENCE on the projects:
ETBE production plant Project of creation of enterprise producing high-octane oxygenated additive to the gasoline– ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE) which uses nanoporous polylayer membranes had already passed scientific-technical assessment of ROSNANO and now is placed before scientific-technical counsel results. The project at the same time is being prepared to investment examination. The aim of the project is to create production of ETBE of 330 thousand tonnes per year capacity with further increase to 500 thousand tonnes. Key production process will be absolutization of ethanol at the expense of use of national nanomembrane technologies. ETBE – additive to the motor fuel, increasing its octane number and oxygenating it which provides the most complete burning of the fuel and decreases CO2 content in automotive exhaust.

Thereby the additive will allow supplying to the market more ecological gasoline. Creation of full cycle of silicon repartition The project is aimed at the creation in Omsk Region of the polycrystalline silicon production of 10 thousand tonnes per year capacity. Polysilicon is used in production of solar photoconverters for recovery and further reproduction of solar energy, microelectronics and nanotechnologies. Creation of such production will allow to develop and use widely technology of solar energetics – acute for today renewable energy source, and to produce the cheapest high quality polycrystalline silicon in the world. It is stipulated by the fact that “Group of Companies “Titan”, CJSC, has in property deposits of especially pure vein quartz; besides the “Group of Companies” possesses metallurgical silicon plant “SILICIUM KAZAKHSTAN”.
