OREANDA-NEWS. November 02, 2010.  A delegation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation headed by its Vice-Speaker Svetlana Zhurova has visited the Olympic venues under construction in the alpine and coastal clusters.

One of the first facilities viewed by the deputies was the Gornaya Karusel Complex where Media Village is being built. The delegation has also examined tracks for alpine skiing. According to the deputies, they noticed sufficient progress in Olympic construction as compared with their previous visit. In the mountains they saw open cut construction of tunnel on the road from Alpine Center “Alpika-Service” to the finish zone of tracks of the Alpine Center “Roza Khutor”.

In the Imeretinskaya Lowland the State Duma delegates visited the Olympic Park. Here, the president of the SC “Olympstroy” Taymuraz Bolloev gave the deputies an account of construction of the Olympic venues. He noted that at present about 40 thousand people are working at the Olympic sites. “As regards the facilities under construction, the impression is very positive”, said Svetlana Zhurova in her turn. “We see that construction is kept on schedule, and this is the main thing.”

After examination of the sites, a field sitting of the interfractional group took place in the construction headquaters of the SC “Olympstroy” attended also by representatives of the SC “Olympstroy”, Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “Organizing Committee “Sochi 2014”, the Krasnodar Krai and Sochi administration. Discussed among the important issues were proposals for amendments to the Federal Law On Organization and Holding of XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi City, the Development of Sochi City as a Mountain Climatic Health Resort.
