OREANDA-NEWS. November 02, 2010. The Government began to fight the crisis with the launch of large-scale infrastructure projects, which the previous government failed to finish. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov stated in the "Exam for authority" at the First National Channel.

"I'm always surprised, why our predecessors have left such important infrastructure objects. I had been visiting several sites that we launched. Timeline of their implementation: started in 2003 - abandoned in 2005, started in 2007 - abandoned in 2008, put into operation in 2010" - Mykola Azarov said.

The Prime Minister said that implementation of infrastructure projects is the main method of combating the economic crisis, so he does not understand why the previous government did not use that: "What has embarrassed them to put in operation, for example, Podolsk bridge? 4-5 months we were engaged in it – the beautiful bridge functions. Bay bridge works now in both directions. Nothing did embarrass. What did embarrass in case of the railway bridge? Why clinic in Brovary was not opened? They began to build, than quit. Today we open it. Nothing did embarrass. Understanding, a clear understanding of what to do was required. Our government has such understanding."

The Head of the Government noted that the most prepared facility were launched first.

He noted that such approach is justified, as the money invested began to work and bring economic benefits: "100 million, which we allocated in the construction of the subway, we immediately gave back 30 million budget revenues, plus salaries to Metrostroy workers, plus orders of Metrostroy to factories, plus taxes, etc. That means, each 100 million allocated gave us back a significant amount of money. That is why the impression that these are expenses is absolutely wrong – these are not only the expenses but revenues.

According to Mykola Azarov, the implementation of such projects animates the economy by creating new jobs. "Work has been revitalized and the entire country came to life. With this policy, we now have 5% GDP growth, we must increase cash income, we have already reached the 2 thousand 400 UAH average wage in the country. This is higher than last year for 400 UAH. Moreover, by the end of the year we go to 2 thousand 700 UAH average wage "- said the Head of the Government.

Evidence of recovery is also deposits of citizens increased in banks, whose growth rate makes 1-2 billion UAH a week: "We have accumulated for this time period more than 50 billion of deposit resources, that means that the economy is revived. Note, that the banks have significantly reduced the rates on attracted deposits. This is the first step, after which we will lower the loans rates.
