OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2010. An unidentified person called at the Irkutsk regional branch of EMERCOM reporting a planned terrorist attack aimed at Irkutskaya HPP with the use of a truck. The heads of HPP, heads of OJSC Irkutskenergo safety committee, head of the Irkutsk region Chief Department of Interior, heads of Irkutsk Department of Interior, an operational investigative group, a fire team of JSC Pozharnaya Okhrana Irkutskenergo immediately reported to the Irkutskaya HPP. The total of 139 policemen was involved in the process. Moreover, 7 brigades of Patrol Guard Service Separate Battalions, 5 State Inspection for Road Safety brigades and 3 Internal Security Governance brigades reported at the scene securing and examining the surrounding area. All the heavy-duty vehicles entering Irkutsk city limits and approaching Irkutskaya HPP were examined. No explosives were detected during the operation. The person who made the false report identified as a dweller of Russkiye Yanguty village at Osinsky district. Currently the question on initiating a criminal case following the article 207 of Russian Criminal Code ‘Deliberately false reporting of acts of terrorism’. At 10.49 PM (local time) the front office Irkutsk Department of Interior reported the alert cancellation.
