Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam Visited Elemash
OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2010. Vietnamese delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien visited Mashinostroitelny Zavod (a subsidiary of TVEL Fuel Company).
The meeting participants met MSZ administration, after which they visited production shops.
In 2006 Vietnam approved the Strategy for development and practical peaceful use of nuclear energy up to 2020, whereby the first in the country power unit is to be put into operation by 2020.
Le Dinh Tien noted: “The interstate relations between Russian and Vietnam are historically favorable. A high degree of safety of Russian NPPs conditioned the choice of Rosatom State Corporation as the partner for construction of the first nuclear power plant in Nin Thuan province in 2014”.
“Previously, in the course of this trip we visited Kalinin NPP where we watched fuelling and the way the fuel worked. The next stage of our trip to Russia was a visit to an enterprise producing fuel assemblies. Everything we’ve seen today is astonishing. We’ve seen the up-to-date level of the equipment used, assured ourselves of nuclear fuel fabrication process safety and application of high technologies”, L.D.Tien noted.
It’s not the first visit of a Vietnamese delegation to MSZ. In June representatives of Vietnam EVN electric energy corporation which is engaged in preparation for construction of a nuclear power plant in the country visited the enterprise.
