OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2010. For the first time since this survey was introduced Aeroflot was included into the rating of the top 10 socially responsible Russian companies and was awarded a respectable 4th place, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

According to Vitali Saveliev, the head of Aeroflot Airlines Company, ‘corporate social responsibility is an established tradition and an important principle of operation of Aeroflot. Our company pays special attention to working with underprivileged groups of people, carries out its own social programs and participates in various charity projects.’ While air traffic controllers’ in Europe often resort to strike Aeroflot proves to be highly responsible to its customers, sustains regular flights with minimal possible delays.

Gazprom and Lukoil remain unchallenged leaders in the rating of socially responsible companies; they are 1st and 2nd places respectively.

The expert survey on which the rating of socially responsible companies is based is carried out by means of secret questioning. Twenty-five experts took part in the survey in October 2010; representatives of trade-unions and entrepreneurs’ guilds, economists, sociologists, political scientists and publicists among them.
