OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2010. TATNEFT develops promising areas of the reservoir pressure maintenance system (RPM) aimed at reducing energy costs and increasing production efficiency. One of the trends in this area is application of positive displacement pumps in the areas of the low-permeability reservoirs, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

In 2010, Oil and Gas Production Board Elkhovneft of TATNEFT introduced an injecting adjustable volume installation manufactured by NPP "New Technologies" (Leninogorsk, Republic of Tatarstan) at the site of Novo-Elkhovskoye field. This unit is designed for dispensing individual injection of fresh, highly mineralized waste and produced water through injection wells into the oil reservoirs for the purpose of enhancing crude oil recovery. The unit was installed and together with specialists of OOO NP "New technologies" it was put into operation in August this year at the site of wells 2187 and 2970 of RPM-1 shop.

UNOR Pumping Unit allows adjusting the flow from zero to the maximum value without reducing the pressure and the efficiency. Maintenance and repair is performed without involvement of well remedial repair and maintenance crews. The installation can be controlled either locally from the local control station or remotely, including possibility of controlling from a mobile phone. It is also possible to use the UNOR as a booster pump at the injection wells. To date the unit is employed in the pilot operation mode. The experts of NGDU and the Engineering Center perform analysis of the unit's operating parameters.
