OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2010. At the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine distribution of subventions from the state budget to local budgets will be approved for funding in 2010 the projects and programs of local government winners in 2009. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Tykhonov announced this.

He said the draft of the relevant resolutions of the Government is approved at meeting of the Governmental Committee on regional and social policy, construction, housing and human development.

Viktor Tykhonov has informed that the amount of subsidy from the state budget to local budgets for financing this year for projects and programs of local government winners in 2009 will be increased to the amount of 22.3 million UAH by a corresponding decrease in funds for co-financing projects of interregional and border cooperation, implemented in the framework of the border and neighbourhood program "European Neighbourhood and Partnership."

The Vice Prime Minister stressed that this step will allow the territorial communities authorities to implement a number of urgent projects related to potable water, implementation of measures for energy and energy saving, introduction of new mechanisms to improve the quality of public services and more.
