OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2010. A meeting between Vnesheconombank First Deputy Chairman – Roseximbank’s Board of Directors Chairman Nikolai Kosov and Ecuador’s Minister Coordinator of Strategic Sectors Jorge Glas was held at Vnesheconombank.

In attendance of the meeting were Pechincha province prefect, HIDROTOAPI EP company’s Board Chairman Gustavo Baroha, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ecuador to Russia Patricio Chavez, Management Board Member, Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman Petr Fradkov, First Deputy of Roseximbank’s Management Board Maxim Strokov, representatives of OJSC Inter RAO EES.

In the course of the meeting they discussed issues of promoting cooperation between Russian companies, Vnesheconombank and Roseximbank in implementing projects on the territory of the Republic of Ecuador in such areas of mutual interests as electric power engineering, oil refining and others.

Vnesheconombank First Deputy Chairman Nikolai Kosov said that by now projects at various development stages were at Roseximbank. They include a project to supply Russian-made electromechanical equipment for the Taochi Pilaton hydro power generation station, Russia’s Premium Engineering Company’s project aimed at utilizing associated petroleum gas for generating electricity in the Amazon region, proposals have been also prepared for Roseximbank’s participation in financing the supplies of road machinery, buses, and ships to Ecuador.

Ecuador’s Minister Coordinator showed interest in promoting cooperation with the largest Russian companies and banks. He said that the Government of Ecuador was ready to consider Russian companies’ and banks’ participation as partners in a number of Ecuador’s investment projects.

The parties expressed their readiness to promote cooperation in implementing investment projects on the territory of Ecuador.
