Stroytransgaz Chairman of Management Board Visit Syria
OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2010. Mr. Sergey Makarov, Stroytransgaz Chairman of the Management Board, completed his visit to the Syrian Arab Republic. During the visit Mr. Makarov had a meeting with the Syrian Oil Minister, Mr. Sufian al-Allaw. The parties discussed cooperation prospects in oil and gas sector, as well as issues regarding fulfillment of the contract for the gas processing plant construction, which is now implemented by Stroytransgaz in the central region of the Syrian Arab Republic.
Mr. Sufian al-Allaw laid special emphasis on the significance of this project for Syrian economy as well as the need for its swift implementation. Mr. Sergey Makarov stressed the importance Stroytransgaz attributes to the fulfillment of its contracts in Syria – one of the most important strategic regions for the company. He informed the Minister about current stage of the project implementation.
After the negotiations Mr. S. Makarov had an interview on Syrian TV, where he spoke about the long and successful cooperation with Syrian companies and described the future plans of the company in SAR. “Today, during the meeting with the Syrian Oil Minister, Mr. Sufian al-Allaw we reaffirmed our confidence that we will soon achieve great progress in the implementation of the gas processing plant project, and it will be completed in the near future”, - said the Chairman. “We will do everything possible to strengthen our friendship and develop Syrian economy”.
Later the head of Stroytransgaz took part in the business meeting, led by Mr. Hussein Wadaa, General Director of Syrian Gas Company, held at the plant construction site. An updated version of the works schedule and equipment deliveries drafted according to the changes of the project was discussed at the meeting.
Within the framework of the visit Mr. Sergey Makarov also discussed Stroytransgaz prospects on the Syrian market with the Russian Ambassador in the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Sergey Kirpichenko and Syrian Deputy Minister for Energy, Eng. Hisham Mashfej.
