KAMAZ for Kazakhstan’s Oil & Gas Industry
OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2010. KAMAZ trucks and special vehicles are presented at the 18th Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition (KIOGE 2010) held in Almaty on these days.
KIOGE is Kazakhstan’s annual exhibition and conference devoted to production, processing, and further use of oil-and-gas products. The Atakent exhibition center accommodated products presented by tens of the Russian, Kazakhstan and other foreign companies, including vehicles on KAMAZ chassis specially prepared by KAMAZ-Engineering, KAMAZ Trade Company in Kazakhstan and dealers of KAMAZ in Kazakhstan for the exhibition. These are a TZA-10 aircraft fueller and a high-sided truck with a crane-manipulator (the both are on KAMAZ-53215 chassis), a mobile auto repair shop on KAMAZ-43118 chassis – also with a crane-manipulator, two vehicles with an all-purpose body of a normal size (a box van), and also a mobile habitable module (all of them are on KAMAZ-43118 chassis).
To date, over 83 thousand KAMAZ trucks are used in Kazakhstan. 1,050 KAMAZ vehicles were sold in the country in 2009, which made up 59% of the total sales volume in the segment of heavy-duty trucks. KAMAZ-Engineering – the Russian-Kazakhstan joint venture assembling KAMAZ vehicles in Kokshetau – makes a great contribution to promotion of KAMAZ production in the market of Kazakhstan. This is the only full-fledged assembly of trucks in Kazakhstan. Thanks to the JV, that country became the largest exporter of KAMAZ vehicles, and KAMAZ turned into the absolute leader of Kazakhstan’s auto market before the crisis. During five years of functioning, the JV assembled more than 4,900 KAMAZ vehicles. The 5-thousandth vehicle is expected to be produced already this year.
