OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2010. The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Alexander Berdnikov, Head of the Republic of Altai, Chairman of the Altai Government.

The meeting addressed the progress in implementing the bilateral Agreement of Cooperation. Special attention was paid to gasification of the region.
Background

Gazprom and the Altai Government signed the Agreement of Cooperation and the Accord on  Gasification in 2006.

The average gasification level in the Republic of Altai is below 1 per cent.

Between 2007 and 2009 Gazprom invested RUB 1.1 billion in the regional gasification. These funds were used to develop the General Scheme for Gas Supply to and Gasification of the Republic of Altai as well as to begin construction of inter-settlement gas pipelines to the Gorno-Altaisk town and the Maima settlement. This year the Company channeled RUB 400 million for further construction of the said gas pipelines.
