Retail Sales of Consumer Products Increased by 8,2% in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2010. Retail sales of consumer products in January-September 2010 amounted to 17 billion 969,9 million lei, increasing by 8,2% as compared to the same period of 2009. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the growth of retail sales was due to increase of nonfoods sales by 10,1% - up to 12 billion 175,5 million lei and sales of foodstuffs – by 3,5% - up to 5 billion 794,4 million lei.
The growth of retail trade volume was registered at the joined ownership enterprises (with foreign capital) (+11,2%), at the private companies (+7,6%) and at the public ownership enterprises (+3,7%). At the same time, the sales at the mixed (public and private) trading companies have reduced (-10,6%).
The largest share in the total volume of retail sales fell to Chisinau – 57,8% and Balti - 7,9%, followed by Gagauzia - 3%, Cahul region – 2%, Orhei region – 1,9%, Edinet – 1,8%, Ungheni, Drochia and Soroca regions – 1,7% each.
In September 2010 the retail sales of the trading companies amounted to 2 billion 317,8 million lei, decreasing by 0,6% as compared to August 2010 and increasing by 8,1% - against September 2009.
