UIA Opens New Flight from Kyiv to Colombo
OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2010. Ticket sales for flights connecting Kyiv and the capital of the western Province of Sri Lanka – the city of Colombo – are open in UIA offices, ticket agencies and via the UIA website www.flyuia.com, reported the press-centre of UIA.
Commencing December 12, 2010 and until the end of the winter schedule 2010-2011, a new flight from Kyiv (Boryspil International Airport) to Colombo (Bandaranaike International Airport) will be operated twice a week – on Tuesdays and Sundays by UIA`s modern comfortable Boeing 737 NEXT GENERATION aircraft in two class cabin configuration – Business and Economy class.
UIA is the first Ukrainian carrier to establish a direct air connection with Sri Lanka. The flight (total time en route is 9 hours and 45 minutes) will be operated by the shortest and most geographically direct route via Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE. It is expected that during the stop-over in Abu Dhabi (about 1 hour) passengers will be able to visit one of the world`s best Duty Free Shop networks.
Sri Lanka is an island in the Indian Ocean situated by the equator, formerly known as Ceylon. Tourists from around the world are attracted there by the kilometers of white sandy beaches, luxuriant tropical nature, colorful local culture and exotic cuisine.
