Objective data given in the reports prove that there was no considerable exceedence of the values set for the enterprises in 2009. Separate cases of exceedence were due to high background concentration of controlled substances in environmental medium.

As Deputy Chairman of the Public Council of Rosatom State Corporation Anatoly Nazarov noted, 24 enterprises of the nuclear power branch have been providing information on environmental constituent of their production to wide public for the second year in succession making it possible to follow-up information concerning discharges, emissions and wastes generation dynamically. “There is the tendency for decrease of their impact on natural objects”, the expert emphasized.

Enterprises of the nuclear power industry are paying great attention to improvement of production and environmental safety systems, regular training and skill improvement of employees of divisions responsible for environmental safety is being carried out everywhere, new equipment is being purchased, and production technology cycles are being improved.
