IBC to Hold Meeting on Topic: " Kyrgyzstan and Customs Union"
OREANDA-NEWS. On October 26, 2010, the International Business Council will hold an Open Meeting on the topic: "Kyrgyzstan and the Customs Union: Practical Solutions for Businesses", which will take place in the frame of the Regional USAID Project on Trade Liberalization and Customs Reform. The meeting will be held at 17:30 in the Shayir Hall, Hyatt Regency Bishkek, reported the press-centre of IBC.
What are the pros and cons for Kyrgyzstan in joining the Customs Union, as well as from being in proximity with the Customs Union? What can difficulties the business face, and what are potential benefits for the local businesses? IBC intends to discuss these and other questions with representatives from Government, the State Customs Service, specialized associations, independent experts, and donors.
USAID Regional Trade Liberalization and Customs is one of the many assistance projects made possible by the support of the American people through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The project promotes the economic development of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, through the integration of trade, modernization of customs systems and logistics, as well as assistance with accession to the WTO and compliance with World Trade Organization.
IBC was established in December 2000 as a nonprofit organization of large investors, carrying out their activities in the Kyrgyz Republic. During the intervening period the number of members has increased and includes a wide range of representatives of international and domestic business. The mission of IBC is to help create a favorable investment climate to promote necessary for the purpose of legislation and efficient business practices, in collaboration with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, local and foreign organizations.
