OREANDA-NEWS. October 21, 2010. Mykola Azarov is confident that it were possible to fully modernize the Ukrainian shipbuilding in 5-10 years. The Head of the Government said that at a briefing in Mykolaiv.

"I know in which condition our shipbuilding enterprises are. We will need 5-6, perhaps even 10 years to make them modern, competitive. To promise the people that after I have been there their working conditions would considerably change for the better and their salary would grow 5 times – I won’t do that.  There were such promisers before me. I belong not to them; I never deceive people and will not do that. We face a difficult task: practically to set up new shipbuilding enterprises", - said the Head of the Government.

He pointed out that Mykolaiv had a very good basis for formation of the shipbuilding industry so that to create a new shipbuilding production on the basis of the enterprises in operation. The Government will pay much attention to that issue, - said Azarov.
