Gazprom and Nenets Autonomous Okrug to Sign Gasification Accord
OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2010. The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Igor Fyodorov, Head of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Administration.
The parties addressed the progress with the Cooperation Agreement. In particular, they reviewed the prospects for Gazprom’s resource base development in the Okrug.
Alexander Ananenkov and Igor Fyodorov discussed the regional gasification. A decision was taken to hold a joint meeting on this issue among experts of Gazprom and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Administration in the town of Naryan-Mar in November. It is planned to sign an Accord on the Okrug’s Gasification during the meeting.
Background
Gazprom and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Administration signed the Cooperation Agreement in November 2006.
Natural gas penetration in the Okrug accounts for 67.1 per cent including 98.1 per cent in cities and towns and 7.8 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia average 63.2, 67.5 and 45.5 per cent accordingly.
The Nenets Autonomous Okrug has a local gas supply system. Pechorneftegazprom (with a 50 per cent stake held by Gazprom transgaz Ukhta, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom) is the only gas supplier to the regional population centers.
