OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2010. An extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of Svyazinvest has passed a resolution to appoint Vadim Viktorovich Semenov, Vice-President of Rostelecom, to the position of General Director of Svyazinvest.  He will replace Evgeny Yurchenko in this position.

Mr. Yurchenko’s employment contract will be terminated as of October 5.

Vadim Viktorovich Semenov was born on August 21, 1965 in Leningrad.

In 1987 Mr. Semenov graduated from the Law Faculty of the Leningrad A.A. Zhdanov State University with a Lenin Red Banner Labor award.

From 1987 to 1999 he worked at various positions in state institutions and organizations, where he was in charge of legal issues.

1999-2003 he oversaw legal support for a number of key transactions concerning the company’s mobile telephony business.

From 2003-2009 he was employed at leadership positions at MegaFon, including head of legal issues.

In 2009 he was appointed corporate development advisor to the CEO of Rostelecom, and in August 2010 he was Vice-President of Legal Issues and Corporate Development of at Rostelecom.

In October 2010 he was named general director of Svyazinvest.
