OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2010. CEO of Millennium Challenge Corporation Daniel Yohannes to visit Moldova on October 17-19 for inauguration of Compact Program. The agreement on it was signed between Moldova and USA in January 2010 and entered into force on September 1, 2010.

It stipulates the allocation of USD262 million grant for development of road infrastructure and installation of irrigation systems, rendering of assistance to agroproducers in order to reduce the poverty level by means of economic growth.

During his visit, Mr. Yohannes will meet with Moldavian authorities, civic and business leaders, and the implementing partners of the MCC Compact Program in Moldova. On October 18, Mr. Yohannes will pay a visit to Slobozia-Dusca, where an irrigation project was implemented and the local irrigation system had been restored under the terms of the Compact Program.
